Motherhood is hard. There are days where you feel like you can’t do anything right. Everyone needs a piece of you, but you have no parts left to hand out. I get it. I understand exactly what that’s like because I’m right there in the trenches too. One of my favorite ways to combat the hard days is by reading over some of my favorite motherhood quotes.
I wanted to share my eight favorite quotes for overwhelmed moms with you, and I hope they provide you the same comfort and peace that they offer me.
And, if quotes are your thing, you should check out this post on positive affirmations for moms!
Motherhood Quotes
“Successful mothers are not the ones that have never struggled; they are the ones that never give up, despite the struggles.” – Sharon Jaynes
“These mountains that you are carrying, you were only supposed to climb.” – Najwa Zebian
“Make yourself a priority. You’re your longest commitment.”
“In the end, I am the only one who can give my children a happy mother who loves life.”
“There is no way to be a perfect mother and a million ways to be a good one.” – Jill Churchill
“Take a shower, wash off the day. Drink a glass of water. Make the room dark. Lie down and close your eyes. Notice the silence. Notice your heart. Still beating. Still fighting. You made it, after all. You made it another day. And you can make it one more. You’re doing just fine.” – Charlotte Eriksson
“You’ll learn to lower your expectations about what you can accomplish in a day. Some days it will be all you can do to keep the kids safe, warm, and fed. And that will be enough.”
“There is grace for today and strength for this moment.”
Those are the quotes I read over and over again when I feel overwhelmed to help myself re-focus and continue my day. I take a deep breath. Say the quote in my head, and then take another deep breath. Little breaks throughout the day help me keep going. I hope these motherhood quotes will help you a little bit too.
